Trainees smash NSPCC fundraising target

9th January 2018

Trainees at Higgs & Sons have smashed their £3,000 charity target for 2017 with a last minute flurry of festive fundraisers.

The first and second year Trainees raised £3,105 over the course of the year through a variety of events, with all money going to the firm’s annual charity, the NSPCC.

Higgs will announce the total raised for the children’s charity early in the New Year, along with their 2018 nominated charity.

In December, the delighted Trainees topped off their total with £392 from a Christmas jumper day, Christmas bake sale and Christmas tombola. Other events throughout the year included a Tree of Happiness, baby photos quiz and an incredible £1,269 raised via sponsorship of the Tough Mudder challenge.

Katy Boyce, treasurer of the Trainee’s fundraising team, said: “We are delighted that our three Christmas events pushed the grand total through our £3,000 target.

“Thank you to all of my fellow trainees for organising and taking part in such a wide variety of fun events over the year, and to everyone at Higgs for supporting so generously.”

Fellow Trainee and chair of the charity committee Jordan Hollingsworth adds: “It has been a pleasure to lead such a dedicated team of trainees in our charity fundraising efforts this year for the NSPCC.”
