IOD Event - The Psychology of Conflict and Mediation

What's it about?

Kisane Prutton (MSc. C.Psychol. CSci. AFBPsS) is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist, accredited mediator and director of The Prutton Partnership a consultancy specialising in conflict resolution, mediation and change. She will be discussing the psychology of conflict at work; the causes, consequences and costs, and asking if organisations can afford to ignore it.

Kisane is also a guest lecturer at the Institute of Work, Health and Organisations (University of Nottingham) and co-trainer in workplace mediation for The ADR Group. Kisane's previous roles included internal consultant to the Department for Work and Pensions, where she was responsible for the policy on stress, and consultant for the accountancy firm BDO Stoy Hayward, where she delivered management due diligence, conflict resolution and psychometric assessment services.

Over the last 10 years Kisane has been working specifically with organisations experiencing conflict; her interventions address the immediate interpersonal issues and then the cultural and systemic problems that typically underpin conflict. With a background in broadcasting, Kisane is now is an active member of the British Psychological Society's Press and Media Committee and the Civil Mediation Council's Communications Committee.
