Article date: 13/01/2009
A property litigation specialist is moving from a large
Birmingham law firm to join Higgs & Sons' growing dispute
resolution team.
Nyree Applegarth has joined Black Country leaders Higgs from
Wragges where she was a property litigation specialist for the last
seven years.
With a wealth of experience in litigation, Nyree joins Higgs'
dispute resolution department as it gets set for one of its busiest
years yet. The team now numbers 10 people, having stood at
just four in 2007 and is one of the most respected in the
region.
Nyree's experience covers many areas including hostile and
non-hostile lease renewals, interim and terminal dilapidations
claims, rent review issues, residential and commercial service
charge recovery, squatters proceedings and all types of possession
claims, property related insolvency issues, title rectification and
distress and forfeiture proceedings.
Speaking of her move to Higgs, Nyree said: "As the credit crunch
continues to squeeze, litigation is fast becoming a sought after
specialism. The Higgs team has some of the best experience in
the region and I am looking forward to being a part of the team's
future development."
Higgs & Sons' Head of Dispute Resolution, Julia Lowe, said of
the appointment: "The department is going from strength to
strength. Our strategy is to grow the number of specialists
across our key areas of commercial, property and contentious
probate disputes and debt recovery. Nyree's appointment gives
us even more experience to offer our growing client
portfolio."
