Criminal Injuries Compensation Claims

When someone is injured as a result of criminal act, they may be entitled to compensation from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority (CICA). We have specialised solicitors who deal with criminal injury claims.

The time limit in which to bring a CICA claim in the UK is two years, however this varies depending on the injury and the nature of the crime. It is important you speak to a solicitor as soon as possible. As well as claiming compensation for your injuries, in some cases you may also be able to claim compensation for your loss of earnings and other expenses.

The relatives of victims who have died as a result of a criminal act or criminal injuries are also eligible to make a claim for a 'fatal injury' award. If you depended financially on the person who died, you may also be able to claim a 'dependency award'. Children under the age of 18 can claim an award for what is called 'loss of parental services'. We experience in assisting people with these difficult and sensitive claims.

Please contact us for a free initial consultation with one of specialist solicitors. We will explain the procedure for bringing a claim for compensation and discuss funding arrangements.
