Older Persons' Division

Our Older Persons' Division provides advice to clients in the areas of mental capacity and related issues, powers of attorney, Court of Protection, care home fees as well as wills, estate administration and tax planning.

In these days where people are living longer, there are not many of us who will not need guidance in one or more of these ever-increasingly complex matters.  As is often the case, timely as well as accurate and friendly advice is absolutely crucial, to ensure that the rights of the individual are met.

Our specialists deal with a growing number of issues of which the following are typical:

  • My mum is starting to become forgetful, can I get a power of attorney for her?
  • Dad is about to go into a home, what help can we get with the fees and what else do I need to know?
  • I want to give my house to the children, can I do it?
  • How can my will help planning for care home fees?
  • We have a child with learning difficulties, what is the best way of providing for him when we die?
  • I need to make a will, what is the best way to go about it?
