Zoe Beviss

Major Trauma Case Handler - Personal Injury

"I am a major trauma case handler who is passionate about helping, supporting & providing legal advice and assistance to those that have suffered injury.”

Having joined Higgs in July 2008, it wasn’t until 2012 where I started my career in the personal injury department.

I have over 11 years’ experience representing clients who have suffered injuries following a road traffic accident.

I currently handle a wide range of personal injury claims and assist clients who have suffered life changing injuries following a major trauma. I have extensive knowledge assisting and supporting the most vulnerable road users, which include horse riders, pedestrians, motorcyclists and cyclists.

I am passionate about helping and supporting my clients every step of the way, and always strive to provide more than just legal advice to my clients. No client expects to be involved in an accident, resulting in serious injury. I understand the devastating impact an accident can have on not only the client, but the clients family and loved ones. I therefore ensure my clients and their families are at ease, ensuring they always have the correct support and guidance every step of the way.

Not only do I want me clients to be compensated, but I want my clients to get better. I therefore ensure the best possible treatments and care packages are put in place for my clients. I work closely with a number of parties including rehabilitation providers, ensuring all clients get the best possible outcome from their treatment.

At Higgs I work with a number of charities, including Spinal Injury Association and Headway. I also ensure to assist with as many local charities as possible.

  • Assisting a client who was involved in a road traffic accident, where unfortunately a fatality was involved. The accident not only caused the client to sustained physical injury, but he also suffered very nasty psychological injury. As a result, he was diagnosed with PTSD (Post traumatic stress disorder). Due to his diagnosis the client was unable to return to work and suffered a relationship breakdown. Working very closely with the client, I was able to find a suitable therapist to treat the client. By ensuring the correct treatment was in place he was able to make a successful recovery, which in return allowed him to return to work. He was also appropriately awarded compensation for his physical and psychological injuries along with other losses incurred.
  • Resolving a matter where the client was involved in a road traffic accident where the insurers were heavily disputing that they were at fault for the accident. As a result, they were not agreeing to liability and were not agreeing to award any compensation for the client. I therefore made extensive enquiries with the police and neighbouring houses near to the accident location. By doing this, I was able to obtain some CCTV showing our client was the innocent party. As a result of obtaining this CCTV the insurers agreed their insured was at fault for the accident and agreed to correctly compensate the client.
  • Obtaining an early offer of settlement in the sum of £67k for a client who suffered injuries when a car collided with his pushbike.
  • Assisting in a matter where the client has suffered serious injuries, including a traumatic brain injury. Using my experience and knowledge I was able to source a suitable case manager, with the case manager’s recommendations I have successfully agreed funding from the insurers for the relevant treatment needed. The case is ongoing.
