Higgs goes wild to support the environment

Colleagues had a wild time at Higgs & Sons recently as they raised funds to help support environmental issues.

The Wear it Wild dress down day was organised by trainees and the firm’s Green Committee and was one of a number of initiatives which are helping to promote a 'green agenda' across the firm.

“June 5th was World Environment day and we wanted to pledge our support to green issues and play our part in protecting the environment in which we live and work," comments Nyree Applegarth, Partner and Chair of the Green Committee.

Wear it Wild day saw colleagues come to work dressed in nature inspired clothes to show their support for the World Wildlife Fund which works to protect some of the world's most vulnerable animals, places and people whilst trying to combat the impact of climate change on the planet. Everyone who took part donated a minimum of £1 to support the work of WWF.

Higgs & Sons supports a number of charitable organisations as part of its extensive CSR programme. Last year the firm raised over £22,000, a target they are hoping to beat this year in order to help its charity of the year, WINGS of Wombourne and the other organisations it is supporting via the Higgs Charitable Trust.
