Higgs' fundraising boosted by bostin' Black Country quiz

Higgs & Sons’ annual charity quiz night raised an incredible £4,800 after teams from the region’s business community pitted their general knowledge against each other in aid of charity.

The annual event was held at the Black Country Living Museum where 35 teams from across the Midlands helped to raise funds for Higgs’ charity of the year, WINGS of Wombourne and the other local organisations that Higgs supports through its Charitable Trust.

Tim Jones, Partner and Head of the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at Higgs said: “The annual Higgs Quiz is a real highlight we all look forward to, and once again the Black Country Living Museum were wonderful hosts to our guests from the region’s business community who came and supported our event.

“WINGS is a small charity doing an incredible job. The support they provide to children is amazing while the respite they offer families is invaluable. We are thrilled to be able to support them through the various activities we carry out across the year.”

Teams made up of Higgs' clients, professional contacts, suppliers and colleagues gathered at the museum in Dudley to test their general knowledge and to bid for raffle items including an overnight stay for two at Hotel du Vin and a Harvey Nichols hamper. The evening was sponsored by Avanti Kitchens.

Winners on the night were Eascote Wealth Management with Griffiths & Pegg runners up.

Rita Tonks of WINGS said: “WINGS provides a much loved and valued service for the community but we can only do so thanks to generous financial support.

“We can’t thank Higgs & Sons enough for choosing us as their Charity of the Year and we are thrilled that the annual quiz has raised so much to enable us to continue the work we and the other organisations they are supporting, carry out throughout the year.”

Higgs & Sons' CSR programme supports a range of projects throughout the region each year. As well as raising much needed funds, Higgs’ employees also provide hands on support to many other organisations, committing time and resources in support of the work they do within the Black Country and the wider West Midlands.
