Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills

Living Wills

Creating a living will can bring you reassurance if you are worried about your future healthcare. When your doctor, or other healthcare professional, is faced with difficult decisions about what treatment or care to give, a living will can provide guidance and will help to ensure that your wishes are taken into account. Living wills should be made in conjunction with your doctor.

A living will only deals with your wishes regarding medical treatment during your lifetime, so you should still ensure that a separate will is written to determine who you would like to inherit your estate after you die.

Living wills are often created in conjunction with a Lasting Power of Attorney. This allows you to give people you trust the authority to manage your affairs on your behalf.
